ANDY WALKER

Desire lines

A desire line is the path carved by the erosion of footfalls, whether by animals or humans. This path typically signifies the shortest or most accessible route between a starting point and a destination.

In the realm of mark-making, chaos, and simplicity converge to deconstruct the human figure, allowing marks to symbolize our essence. It serves as the most direct route to comprehending the vastness of human nature and our intricate existence.

"Each of us is inherently unique, with paths yet unfinished.  The majority love to feel like we belong to a tribe, a community, and when we are within the tribe we feel happiest."

Manchester born Andy Walker graduated from Liverpool John Moore University with a degree in Fine Art in 1994. Since then he has called Brighton his home where he explores the interplay of chaos and calm in his abstract paintings. Using various media, Walker creates larger-than-life artworks that capture the tension between disorder and serenity.
