Part of the ongoing Stain series, this set of three paintings explores the colour of emotions as the move around the body.
Material & Process
Working on primed canvas, high pigment inks are poured and absorbed into the primer and canvas fibres. The paint is wiped and burnished while wet, leaving a trace of pigment stain - like a hum of colour. Oil colour is then rubbed in to enhance the intensity and sheen in areas. The exposed canvas remains active throughout, functioning as light and ground within the composition.
When dry the paintings are coated with a satin UV protective varnish.
