City Lights

These intimate still lives begin instinctively, often as a way of entering the studio. What starts as a simple arrangement gradually deepens through repeated sittings and layered revisions. Colour relationships - sometimes unconsciously informed by photographs taken on walks or journeys - shift and settle as the composition finds its internal balance. Each work is pursued until the structure feels resolved, as though the final piece has quietly assembled itself from accumulated decisions.
