Big Sur Bronze
Big Sur - Polished Bronze (Solid Bronze Limited edition of 10 )
Originally carved in Nephrite Jade from Big Sur - which gave the piece its title - this form has since been revisited in a variety of materials through casting. In solid bronze, it takes on a new warmth and presence.
Cast in solid bronze, the sculpture has a beautiful natural weight and heft, giving it a quiet sense of grounding. The polished surface creates a rich, reflective gold finish that gently accentuates the flowing curves and edges, allowing light to move across the form and reveal its subtle shifts.
As with other editions, the piece rests on a curved surface, adding both elegance and a suggestion of movement. It can be enjoyed in different orientations - there is no single right way, only the way each viewer connects with it.
In bronze, the original organic language of the carving remains, but feels deeper and more settled - a familiar form experienced in a new way.
